Robbin Khoo holds an MBA from the University of Keele (UK), a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and is a qualified Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He is also a John Maxwell Certified Coach, Teacher and Speaker. His passion in people development has brought him to be a Chair / Business Coach with VISTAGE Malaysia Sdn Bhd – an international peer to peer membership organization for CEO’s, Business Owners and Executives of small to mid-size businesses. As an entrepreneur himself over the last 5 years, he has also set up a Management & Marketing Consultancy and most recently, a Training Consultancy focusing primarily on leadership development.
In his previous employment, he held various senior management positions and acquired extensive work experience in the financial services industry. His personal development took him from Banking, with Standard Chartered for more than a decade, to the Investments sector with CIMB Wealth Advisors (formerly known as BHLB Pacific Trust Management Bhd), Apex Unit Trusts Sdn Bhd; Eastspring Investments Berhad (formerly known as Prudential Fund Management Bhd), as well as in Insurance with Prudential Assurance (M) Bhd and Hong Leong Assurance Berhad. His last appointment was as CEO of Inter-Pacific Asset Management Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary financial unit with the Berjaya Group of Companies. He now sits as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors for Inter-Pacific Asset Management Sdn Bhd, as well as a Member of the Investment Committee.
Among some of his contributions to the market, he had taught Marketing Communications for the Diploma in Marketing Management program in 2003; written articles on Unit Trusts for The Management Times back in 1997 and “My RINGGIT” for Malaysian Business in 2009; presented “Measuring ROI in DM Campaigns” at a public seminar in 2004; and had previously developed an in-house Project Management Handbook for BHLB Pacific Trust Management Berhad. He won the Penang Inter-Banks Athletic Meet logo design competition back in 1979 and the 2nd Malaysian Guitar Festival (Ensemble) in 1978.
A people person, Robbin continues to treasure and nurture his network of business and personal relationships, and often avail himself to others as a resource. One of his current passions is to reach out to people through music and he is regularly involved in church activities and worship singing. He regularly helps out in Urban Centre, a ministry that caters for the homeless, needy and marginalized.
