Cheng Ping Keat

Cheng Ping Keat or “PK” as he is fondly known, was trained as an accountant. Graduated from Melbourne University in 1984, he obtained an MBA qualification from Bath University in 1996. He was a Vistage member for 15 years and later became the Director of Vistage-In-Mandarin (VIM).

He joined his family business Kee Hin Industries in 1987 and sales turnover was only RM4 million then. He is instrumental in growing the business to having a phenomenal turnover of RM580 million in 2022. He attributes part of his success to gaining beneficial knowledge and assistance as well as implementing best practices that he has acquired throughout his association with Vistage as a member, Director and Chair/Coach. 

PK has been actively promoting his company’s export businesses. Khind is now exporting its products to over 60 countries worldwide and exports contribute to over half of the Khind Group’s revenue. PK helped transform Khind from a traditional family business to a professionally-managed public company which is listed on the KLSE. Khind currently has over 850 staff operating in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, China, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Algeria.

PK is also past President of the Malaysia Electrical and Electronic Industrial Group of the Federation of Malaysia Manufacturers (FMM), past Honorary Treasurer of Young Presidents Organization in Malaysia, past Deputy President of Yoke Kuan Alumni Association, and past Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association of SRJK Yoke Kuan. He also established Khind Starfish Foundation, a charitable organization that has been actively promoting cancer awareness and fundraising for cancer research, as well as supports undergraduates in community works, performing arts and cultural organizations; and helps under-privileged communities. He also loves writing and his works are published in regular columns in local newspapers Sinchew Daily, Oriental Daily, Nanyang Siang Pau as well as Pumen magazine where he shares his entrepreneurial experience and life’s philosophy.  To date, he has published four books.
