Ong Guan Hock

Ong Guan Hock, recipient of the Vistage Chair Excellence Award, is an ICF Certified Coach with an MBA from the University of Bradford and a BSc (Hons) from the University of Manchester (UK). Bringing over 28 years of strategic, operational, and P&L leadership across public listed companies, family enterprises, and government advisory, he leads executive peer-groups and coaching for CEOs, MDs, and business owners—helping them tackle critical business challenges and overcome execution roadblocks to drive measurable growth.

Prior to Vistage, he spent a decade in the public listed domain, achieving multi-fold revenue expansion across legacy subsidiaries at Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd, and then senior leadership roles at MBM Resources Bhd, where he led major cost-rationalization and operational efficiency initiatives.

In the family enterprise domain, he spent 10 years in Automotive Trading & Manufacturing, establishing core financial, operational, and HR systems to professionalize owner-operated businesses. As a hands-on leader in operational transformation, he deployed Lean frameworks that consistently achieved 30% to 70% productivity gains within 6 to 12 months.

Guan Hock’s career foundation includes 7 years in strategic advisory and financial research, highlighted by 3 years at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) delivering business development and strategic advisory services directly to over 100 SME CEOs and owners. He also served as an Equity Investment Analyst with Smith Zain Securities (a UK joint-venture stockbroker) in KL and began his career in London with Spicer & Oppenheim, a leading UK accounting firm renowned for its financial sector audits.
