Chan Chun Keong
Chan Chun Keong (CK) has been a Vistage Chair since 2011, anchoring a CEO and a Key Leadership group. He is a recipient of the Vistage Malaysia Master Chair Award in 2017 and Chair Excellence Awards in 2016 and 2018. He believes in giving back to the business fraternity by sharing his knowledge, experience and insights with his many years working in the public and private sectors.
In the public sector, he was one of the early pioneers of the Malaysian industrialization program since the early 70’s, working for the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA). He was actively involved in promoting and developing key industries crucial for Malaysia’s growth. He was instrumental in initiating the Heavy Industries Corporation of Malaysia Bhd. (HICOM), which was entrusted with starting several heavy industry projects to position Malaysia as an industrial nation.
In the private sector, CK has worked for industrial giants such as CI Holdings, Hume Industries and Hong Leong. He was variously involved in strategic planning & execution, corporate and operations roles, both in Malaysia and the Asean Region. Prior to retirement, CK was the Executive Director in APP Industries Bhd., a PLC which is one of the world’s top producers of ceramic gardenware.
CK holds a degree in Economics (Accounting) from University of Malaya, Diploma in Accounting (UM) and an MBA from Cranfield University, UK. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. With CHANGE being the only constant in today’s dynamic world, CK believes the only way to stay on top is through life-long learning and continuous improvement, enhanced by a good work-life balance emphasizing regular health maintenance.
