Chim Weng Tuck

Chim Weng Tuck is a Member of The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia.  He graduated from the University of Salford (United Kingdom) with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Electrical Engineering in 1978.  He went on to obtain a Master of Science in Electrical Power Engineering from Queen Mary University of London in 1979.

Chim started his career as a Research and Development engineer and worked for Fisher Controls Limited for 4 years in the United Kingdom.  His work was mainly in the field of electro-magnetic actuators, used in the aerospace industry.  After returning to Malaysia, he worked for Malaysian Pacific Industries (a public-listed company in Bursa Malaysia) belonging to the Hong Leong Group Malaysia for over 30 years.   Carsem, under the MPI group was engaged in sub-contract manufacturing of semiconductor components.  MPI is a MYR1.6b company.  During that time, he held various positions from Engineering to General Management.

He was the Chief Operating Officer of Dynacraft, another MPI Company before he left in 2014.  He then joined Amkor Technology Malaysia, which is an American Company owned by a Korean, listed on NASDAQ. Amkor is a tier one global sub-contract semiconductor manufacturing company, with factories in Korea, China, Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan and Portugal.  Amkor is a $4b global company. He worked in Amkor Technology Malaysia for five years and was the President prior to retiring in 2019.

As a Business Coach, he motivates leaders to a make a paradigm shift, thinking out of the box, to achieve better than industry benchmark results for their businesses so that they can live a more balanced and a richer personal life. Chim plays some social golf and likes to catch up with friends as well as making new friends. He enjoys travelling and drinking wine too.
