Darren Choy

Darren Choy is a veteran C-suite executive with over 25 years of leadership across music, consumer goods, sports and financial advisory sectors in Southeast Asia, the UK and beyond. He has a consistent record of transforming organisations — turning around subsidiaries, leading companies through industry disruptions and building high-performance teams that outlast his tenure. His experience spans entrepreneurial start-ups, regional subsidiaries of global multinationals and a Bursa Malaysia public-listed company.

His leadership is defined by three hallmarks: Growing revenues and profitability simultaneously; identifying and developing the next generation of regional leaders; and a disciplined approach to building brands that resonates across diverse Asian markets.

At Warner Music, he delivered a 154% revenue growth and produced three future Managing Directors for Southeast Asia. At adidas, he surpassed Nike in brand awareness and elevated the Malaysian subsidiary to the most profitable in Asia Pacific outside China and Japan. As Sedania Innovator Berhad CEO, he led an ACE Market-listed FMCG and technology group. At Lotus F1, he redefined fan engagement, making Lotus Racing a benchmark for modern motorsport marketing. He also co-founded Seventy 1 Consultancy to advise the next generation of founders and CEOs.

Darren possesses a rare combination of strategic vision, operational rigour and deeply-rooted stakeholder relationships across Asia.

Darren’s commitment to inclusive growth extends beyond the boardroom. Active in PWD Smart Farmability which empowers disabled persons through sustainable farming initiatives; and supports the Dignity for Children Foundation in advancing education and development for underprivileged youths. These roles reflect a leadership philosophy where corporate success and societal values are not in tension but inseparable.
