Dato’ Kenji Ling
Dato’ Kenji’s entrepreneurial journey spans 26 years, marked by extensive experience in property development, construction, manufacturing, international trading, retail and hospitality. His career began in 2001 when he joined his family business as the executive director and shareholder. In this role, he spearheaded the company’s first export of timber doors to Australia, showcasing his ability to drive international business growth.
In 2003, Dato’ Kenji returned to Malaysia after completing his Master of Marketing from the University of Western Australia in Perth. Leveraging his new skills and knowledge, he established a nationwide distribution network. However, due to certain differences with his family, he left the business in 2007.
Undeterred, he ventured into the VoIP industry by founding his own company. Despite facing significant financial losses, he demonstrated resilience by transitioning to distribute doors for Masonite, the world’s largest door manufacturer, in Malaysia. In 2010, he had successfully repaid all his debts.
In 2011, Dato’ Kenji rejoined his family business but left again not long after to start his own property development company. His achievements have been widely recognized; for instance, he was featured in Prestige Magazine Malaysia’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2009 and named Malaysia’s Most Influential Young Entrepreneur in 2018.
Currently, Dato’ Kenji serves as the Perak Liaison Committee Chairman of the Malaysian Lin Chamber of Commerce and the Engagement Chair of the Entrepreneur Organization Malaysia. His journey reflects resilience, strategic thinking, continuous growth and innovation in various industries.
