David Wong

David Wong is an experienced C-suite executive for 34 years in both local conglomerates as well as multinational corporations. Some of the major companies include Tan Chong Motor Holdings Group (Director/General Manager of its assembly plant), CarnaudMetalbox (CMB), a French/UK based can manufacturer (Managing Director for Malaysia), Hume Industries Berhad under the Hong Leong Group (Group Managing Director – Board Division) and the Pacifica Group of Australia/Delta Group of UK ( Regional Director for Asia).

He retired in 2018 after a career spanning 48 years. His last position was as the Managing Director for Asia in Valmont Industries Inc., a NYSE listed industrial group based in Omaha, USA. Valmont is a global leader in support structures and services for civil infrastructure. It is the world’s largest maker of poles (for the utilities and telecommunication industry). A feather in his cap to his career in Valmont was when David led his team to win the Chairman’s Award in 2014 for outstanding world- wide overall performance.

David’s experience is extensive in both width and depth, as he has worked through all levels of management hierarchy and helmed both local and international conglomerates from diverse industries. His strength in crunching numbers and skill in corporate turnaround and transforming businesses makes him an invaluable Chair for all business leaders wanting to spearhead their company to greater heights.

David is a chartered management accountant with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK, Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and Charted Global Management Accountants (CGMA).
