Derek Oh
Derek Oh has served in various management positions for 36 years including as Senior Vice President in several multinational corporations in Malaysia, Thailand and China , with Texas Instruments, Toyota Motor Corporation, Lion China Automotive Group, Autoliv Asia Pac Inc (Bkk) , AAPICO AMATA / DANA Corp, Thailand and Manitowoc Crane Group Inc. (Shanghai/India).
After completing his overseas assignments for 16 years, he returned to Malaysia as the COO of a foreign owned automotive component group taking charge of Malaysia and China. On a part-time basis, he continues to conduct Practical Workshops and on-site company assessment and correction of selective business concerns in Malaysia and Thailand. He has consulted several businesses in Lean Manufacturing principles and Kaizen Improvement practices having been formally trained and certified in Toyota Production System (TPS) by Toyota Motor Corporation during his 12-year tenure with TMC.
Derek Oh continues with his passion to share his vast knowledge and working experience covering the tough lessons he picked up whilst being a young Engineer including Strategic Planning to Tactical and Operational Management in his later years. Educated as a Mechanical Engineer from Westminster University, London- he has added on new business management techniques which addresses Key Performance Indices (KPI) and a string of business & problem solving tools and techniques like Variance Analytics, SGIA, Business Model Canvas, Product Value Propositions, SCRUMBAN methodologies, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping and Lean Assessments for manufacturing and service related industries.
He excels in turning around failing businesses and taking them to greater and sustainable growth. He has helped local companies to export globally as they grew with solid fundamentals of manufacturing and service excellence which exudes better products, better prices, better quality and better delivery.
