Dr. Laurence Lim
Dr. Laurence Lim, his strong academic background and wide practical sales, marketing, operational experiences in health, trading, automotive, life insurance and fashion retail sectors success enable him to successfully mentor CEOs and business owners to manage change, achieve growth and to transform their businesses to world class standard.
He graduated with a BSc (Hons) from University of Malaya; an MBA from Cranfield Institute of Technology UK and DBA from the University of South Australia. Dr. Laurence has accumulated wide experiences from different industries, working at senior positions in Healthcare Johnson & Johnson; Roche Malaysia), Industrial Equipment Marketing (Hong Leong Equipment), Consumer Automotive Marketing (SAAB / PORSCHE) and the last corporate position that he held was as the Chief Operating Officer of a Malaysian life insurance company (Hong Leong Assurance) before he rejoined family business to expand the fashion retail international Thomas Sabo brand.
He managed a number of companies involved in various industries. He has throughout his career, acquired wide practical competencies from managing sales, marketing, operations and companies, through various stages of start ups, growth acquisitions and divestment of businesses. His versatility and wide industry experiences and education background, enable him to learn and apply the best management practices of Malaysian Chinese, USA and European multinationals.
Dr. Laurence has demonstrated a passion for transferring knowledge through continuous development of young and senior managers in his companies. He is also a certified in-house facilitator for Dr Steven Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People as well as an in-house lead assessor on quality, which is based on USA Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award. At the same time, Dr. Laurence is very active in Kiwanis Malaysia and contribute to the development of youth service leadership programs and help to raise funds for charitable social organisations that support underprivileged and challenged children.
