Michael Tan

Michael Tan, a graduate from Malaya University (MU) served a short stint in the computer industry, followed by another 25 years in the fund management industry.  He humbly began his career in training and marketing and eventually became the CEO of OSK-UOB Unit Trust Management Berhad at the age of 40.  He made his first pot of gold in his early thirties, by building one of the biggest sales forces with ten agency offices and more than 1,500 agents in a short span of time.

In his capacity as the CEO, he led the development of multiple sales channels, working with foreign financial institutions such as Deutsche Bank, Schroeder Financial Group, UOB Asset Management (Singapore) to launch many innovative products for the company.  During his corporate service, he was appointed as a Board Member of the Group,  Council Member of the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) and he was a Chartered Financial Planner (CFP).

His last corporate appointment was the CEO of RHB Unit Trust Management Berhad and retired at the age of 50. After he left the corporate sector, Michael was involved in various community and social activities. He was the Circle-K District Administrator of KIWANIS;  Council member for Quanyin World Foundation as well as Oriental Art and Cultural Center (OACC) funded by Elken Foundation. Besides corporate coaching, Michael currently spends his free time in studying Buddhism, tea art and calligraphy.
