William Lien

William Lien, Co-Founder of Mystartr Group Sdn Bhd, is a leading figure in Malaysia’s Equity Crowdfunding (ECF) landscape. Under his leadership, Mystartr, a recognized Market Operator by the Securities Commission Malaysia, has become a top platform in the sector.

He holds a degree in Management Science from the University of Central Oklahoma (1990). William began his career as an Area Account Manager for a MNC in Northern California. Returning to Malaysia in 1993, he grew Acer’s Southern region revenue from zero to hero in seven years, dominating market share from Johor, Melaka to Negeri Seremban establishing it as the No. 1 market leader in the ICT industry in Southern Region. He was later promoted to General Manager within the group overseeing an eCommerce O2O business.

Throughout his career, William has held senior executive roles at Acer Group and Harvey Norman Malaysia, strengthening market leadership, profitability, and brand presence. His expertise spans brand building, channel development, distribution, and retail management.

Beyond corporate achievements, William actively contributes to Malaysia’s business community as Vice Chairman of Information Technology at ACCCIM, promoting ICT adoption among SMEs.

He is also deeply involved in professional training and consulting, focusing on four key areas: Capital: Leveraging market capital to drive business growth and scale. Product Management: Enhancing market share, portfolio stability, and product performance. Business Model Canvas: Providing practical guidance to design and strengthen business models. Sales Strategy: Implementing techniques for sustainable growth and achieving sales targets across diverse markets.

William serves as a mentor and panel judge for various accelerators, guiding startups and SMEs on funding strategies. His mission is to champion Equity Crowdfunding as a catalyst for business growth, paving the way for M&A opportunities and eventual IPOs.
