Yeoh Seng Hooi
Yeoh Seng Hooi has more than 25 years of senior management and executive board experience in a variety of industries such as Manufacturing, Construction/Property development, Publishing, and even a not-for-profit Industry Association. Currently, he runs a boutique consultancy that provides financial and strategic advisory services to SMEs. His management exposure encompasses earlier career stints in the public sector, Banking and Venture Capital.
Seng Hooi was instrumental in the restructure and listing of Chee Wah Corporation Bhd on the KLSE after which he was appointed the Executive Director and then promoted to Deputy Managing Director.
As the Corporate Director of PLB Engineering Bhd, Seng Hooi was again entrusted to successfully migrate the corporation from the then Second Board to the Main Board of the KLSE. Recently, he was the consultant that advised and guided his client to a listing on Catalist, SGX in 2019. Having worked extensively with SME entrepreneurs and successfully helped to transform them into public-listed corporations, Seng Hooi has been an agent of that growth.
He has been involved with the growth and development of SMEs when he was with the Penang Development Corporation. From there, his passion and involvement continued to take different forms such as Financier, Corporate Strategist, Marketeer, Policy Advocate, and Executive Director.
Beyond his vocation, Seng Hooi serves as the Hon. National Secretary of the Small and Medium Enterprises Association (SAMENTA) and frequently writes articles and speaks on issues affecting SMEs. He also sits on the ASEAN Advisory Board of ZICO International as a subject matter expert on SMEs. Seng Hooi has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with Honours from The University of Chicago and a Master of Economic Management from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
