Zahira Sughra Zainuddin
Zahira Sughra’s twenty-five years corporate experience in Petronas at various senior management and C-level positions, encompassing the full spectrum of business-building has allowed her to excel on value creation, growth and positive impact. She has extensive experience in the Energy business and related consumer markets i.e. automotive and industrial sectors.
Her roles have been multi-faceted with a global reach and accountability of business-building across all continents i.e. Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Americas, delivering on people development and positive financial results collectively.
Her expertise includes managing P&L portfolio, strategy shaping, multi-billion dollars commercial negotiations, business transformation, global trading, mega-project delivery, seeding innovation, new market entry set-up, culture change and human capital transformation, dealing with international counterparts, internal and external stakeholders, multi-national companies, and government/regulatory authorities.
She is regarded as a non-conventional thinker and leader with proven attributes in leading and influencing high-level complexoutcomes and who has a strong foundation in strategic business delivery and stakeholder management. She has been active invarious speaking engagements at global, regional, and local levels as well as provides advisory/coaching for start-ups andindividuals. Given her vast experience and exposure to global working cultures, Zahira believes that embracing diversity,being inclusive and committed to making a difference will be key levers for the sustainability of any business.
She holds a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College in London, and was a Professor (Practice) in Leadership and Strategy with Monash University. Zahira also has a fondness for poetry and the outdoors, loves to travel off the beaten path, appreciates humanity in all its oddity, and is committed in wanting to build a sustainable and humane society through active collaboration and meaningful contribution.
